Service Description

A sound healing session, often known as a sound bath, involves lying down on the floor or sitting in a chair, getting really cosy and simply listening as various instruments are played, literally “bathing” you in the soothing sounds and vibrations. The sound frequencies then induce a deeply restorative state in the brain, activating the body’s self-healing system. It's been found, and researched, that sound can be effective healers for a range of mental, emotional, and even physical ailments, and is a valuable alternative therapy for conditions such as: depression, anxiety, PTSD, sleep disorders, aches and pains to name a few. Some of the most highly reported benefits of sound therapy and sound healing also include: reduction in stress, help with mood swings, lowered blood pressure, reduction in pain, improvement in sleep and boost in overall well-being. The main aim is relaxation and it can can be done in both a group or individual session. Sound healing works by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (the opposite of the stress flight or fight response) inviting the sensation of slowing everything down, sending a signal to your body that you are safe and therefore allowing you to fully relax and rest. The most important thing to remember is that everybody’s experience is unique, it can be emotive and cleansing, uplifting and restoring.
